    Re: P-51 Mustang WIP

    GM,
Found another photo for our "foul weather light" collection. Here's Nooky Booky IV (G4 C) flown by Ace Kit Carson of the 362nd FS. Clearly shows the light near the firewall.

Great work Gamary love "Detroit Miss" I remember seeing this profile in a ww2 aircraft book from about 1977 published by Salamander, a very eye catching aircraft.

Nice picture, Joe! Probably most people don't notice the light because it doesn't show a lot on B&W pictures. Clearly visible on Nooky Booky here is the perspex rear-view mirror on top of the canopy.

Thought I'd add two more of the overdone birds, in the "blue-nosed bastards of bodney" style

    Re: P-51 Mustang WIP

Very nice gamary!....but..( I know I can't do better )..can I point out the number 3 used in the nose art is incorrect ( as far as I know). Also the aircraft detail stencil appears to be to big. And the line of the blue nose paint should run from higher up. Running inline with the front side cockpit window...rather than the panel line.

I know I couldn't do better...but Preddy's CAM3 is my alltime fav aircraft of anytype or of any time era. It's such a shame she never survived the war and saved for posterity. More enemy aircraft fell to her guns than any other P-51 of WW2. The best of the best.."Second To None". As was Major.George Preddy. R.I.P.

Still love it though..LOL... Blue Nosers can NEVER! be over done.

Thanks for pointing these out, CAM. I'm not so sure about the stencil but the other things you pointed out are spot on. I'll correct the drawing soon and repost.

    Re: P-51 Mustang WIP

Here you can see what I mean about the stencil being to big.
I feel it should be smaller and higher up. IMHO.

I know some say that P-51's have been over done. But the reason is ..the P-51 is popular!..probably THE most popular aircraft ever flown...sooo.
I never tier of seeing 51's..there are so many which have yet still to be done..its a huge subject. Same for 109's. There has been a huge increase folks showing interest in 109's in the past few years...I guess jumping off the 51 band wagon. But it to is becoming like the 51..as folks say "being over done". But like the 51..it's a huge subject....thousands of schemes and pilots to choose from. I love it all!...whats not to like?, regardless of type. GIVE ME MORE!...
As I say..I NEVER tier of seeing 352nd FG 51's, a few more 47's would be nice.

Ok..wheres the ladder gone to get down off my box?.

By the way..this is one of my fav CAM 3rd pictures. Looking rough & ready..You just know she's was always first to fight. BEAUTIFUL!
