If you have a good scale drawing, I could give it a shot.
Funny enough I did a little experiment of a cone-shaped rocket pod only a few weeks ago to see how easy it would be to model it, starting with a flat disc with holes and then deforming it into a cone. It turned out to be pretty easy indeed.

Terribly sorry to be a right pain in the rear but I'm not convinced on the gloss highlight, normally it would be a reflection of the contrast between the horizon and the sky. I'm not sure if it is either too strong a line between the light and the dark, or the straightness of the line or the lack of any colour that makes it look a little wrong, but something isn't quite right.

When I've needed to get a similar effect I've just got a nice photo and stretched it a lot and knocked the opacity back, any chance you could indulge me and give it a try?

I could model it by eye perhaps, if you have some half-decent photos.

I don't use photos in my work as I feel it is cheating

Depends what you do with them, if it is just for use as a texture and is heavily transformed/filtered in photoshop then I think it is allowed, just sticking in a photograph of an ejection seat or hud is as you say cheating.

Don't forget Blow used a load of wood photos for his Albatros and you do have to admit it really has made a difference to the artwork.

Like Ink says, it depends on what you do with them. You could go so far as to say I don't use photos to work from too. Using a photo to make realistic texture is fine by me. Especially if you've taken the photos yourself!
I don't see anything wrong with using clouds or a tree line or even a full landscape for reflections either if it seems like something that will fit in with the overall look of your profile.

...but, if you've got a personal ban on photos in your work, that's fine too

    FAST AND BULBOUS!
